Our Approach and Method

Our approach and method of hands-on learning in multi-age classrooms with dedicated teachers affords families outstanding value in private school education.  Each classroom curriculum features academic programs and materials thatenhance younglearners’ experiences and growth.

Comprehensive programs include Montessori childcare, Montessori preschool and Kindergarten, and Montessori elementary education opportunities.  Conveniently located in the heart of the city, our campus consists of two buildings and 15 unique classrooms that span a city block, with free parking.

Our multi-age classrooms provide curriculum -based versus play-based education. Students use proven Montessori materials designed exclusively for learning experiences, as opposed to the popular-culture/entertainment toys typical of traditional daycare and preschool settings.

The Montessori Individualized Learning Process

Students benefit from individual lesson opportunities, small group lessons and whole-class lessons throughout the day at North End Montessori School. Our highly-trained teachers and staff constantly assess the individual progress of each student.  Students receive appropriate new studies and lesson opportunities at the time they are ready to receive them, based on their unique individual progress.

The Montessori approach facilitates each student’s excitement for learning based on his or her own choices. This method of accommodating personal learning styles is unique to Montessori pedagogy. In contrast to non-Montessori schools with rote mainstream curriculums and forced lessons, Montessori teachers observe how and when students absorb each lesson, and repeat lessons as much as necessary based on each child’s individual needs.

Montessori school learning communities differ from conventional school, where only learners with learning difficulties typically receive an individual education plan (IEP). This learning environment ensures that every student benefits from lesson plans individualized to their unique learning style.  Students gain time to realize their full potential.  Students discover how to learn, and this growth enables them to become successful and caring citizens.
