Toddler Childcare

Toddler Childcare at North End Montessori School is open to children 15 months to 2.9 years old. Students benefit from our Montessori-inspired nurturing environment, hands on activities, and low teacher-student ratio. Our dedicated toddler campus currently features 8 impeccably clean classrooms with all new Montessori-inspired materials and a secure outdoor play space. Each class hosts 12 students with two teachers for an optimal 1:6 student-teacher ratio.

In this critical time of human development, an educational approach is important. Montessori-inspired Toddler Childcare at North End Montessori School is a true learning environment, while traditional daycare focuses more on child care than education.

Toddler Childcare Schedule

Year-round Toddler Childcare at North End Montessori School may include 5-day, 3-day, or 2-day programs, with flexible hours designed to accommodate students and families:

Preschool at North End Montessori School is for children 2.9 to 6 years old. Class ratios are one teacher per 12 students, and class sizes are up to 24 students with two full time teachers. Learning experiences in early childhood are vastly important for students’ developing minds. If given opportunities in early childhood, students as young as 3 years old can understand that they have unique gifts and abilities.

Our preschool academic curriculum and environment helps students to build individual confidence, communication skills, compassion, patience and leadership abilities. This differs from traditional preschool settings with “homogenized” environments that focus on student similarities. Montessori classrooms recognize, encourage, and celebrate the unique gifts and talents of each student.

Preschool Schedule

Year-round Preschool at North End Montessori School may include 5-day, 3-day or 2-day programs with flexible hours designed to accommodate students and families:

Montessori KindergartenKindergarten

Kindergarten at North End Montessori School begins at age 5 as of September 30. In a Montessori school, Kindergarten is a capstone year (or keystone or foundation year) in which students are considered leaders of the multi-age classroom. As they complete 36 months in the same classroom with the same teacher and learning materials, they become class leaders who practice sharing their knowledge through informal lessons for younger students – which also reinforces their own lessons.

As younger students view them as class experts and seek their assistance, Kindergarteners benefit from opportunities to enhance their self-esteem, confidence, concentration, ability to communicate, ability to understand and reason, and ability to show compassion and patience for younger peers.

Unless students receive this exposure to developmental opportunities, it’s otherwise difficult to hone these critical interpersonal and life skills at age 5! Montessori Kindergarten purposely places Kindergarten students in an elevated position to affirm social and emotional lessons, in addition to academic lessons. Young students who learn these skills typically become effective adult leaders.
